St. James NEST Board of Advisors

Jack Bobeck, Family Medicine Physician

Jack and his wife Janine permanently moved to the St. James Player’s Club neighborhood in 2020 from NE Pennsylvania. Jack practiced Family Medicine for 35 years. He also served at various times as Medical Director for several Home Health Agencies, Nursing Homes, a Hospital Rehabilitation Unit and Hospice care.  He volunteered for years at a non-profit Community Church Clinic that provided for the medical needs of the underserved.  Jack has two sisters and one brother who also have homes in St. James.  His sister Ann, a fellow NEST volunteer, suggested Jack’s involvement with St. James NEST.  Jack feels this would be a natural extension of his previous career and a way to give back to the St. James community.

Melissa Catlett, Director - The Brunswick Center at Southport

Melissa moved to Southport in 2017 to accept the director position at the Southport Center for Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. Melissa has over 15 years in the aging network and close to 30 years in Human Services. She is from Henderson, NC originally and worked as a Programs Monitor, Senior Games Coordinator and Family Caregiver Specialist with Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments prior to coming to Southport. Her passion is to help seniors in the Southport area maintain independence and age-in-place within their communities.  She is honored to be an advisor for St. James NEST.

Father Bill Eberle - Episcopal Priest

After serving parishes in Maryland, New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, and Virginia for forty plus years, Fr. Bill Eberle and his wife Linda moved to St. James in 2015. He is an occasional preacher at St. James Plantation Chapel, St. Philip's Episcopal Church, and summer service at Register Park on the intercoastal waterway. Fr. Bill is the lead facilitator for Walking through Grief; a nine session course providing insights and strategies for coping with grief. He is the Vice Chairman of the Brunswick County Substance Use and Addiction Commission. Bill usually participates in aerobic classes at our wellness centers five days a week and has helped with Relay for Life.
